Worship in Every Language
Making Our Services More Accessible with Wordly
At the church of Christ on McDermott Road, we want everyone to feel welcome, no matter what language they speak.
That’s why we offer simultaneous translated captions and subtitles during our 10:30 AM worship service using Wordly, a multilingual translation platform. This will make it easier for individuals and families who speak languages other than English to worship with us and engage more fully in our time together.
What Is Wordly?
Wordly is a real-time translation tool that converts spoken English into captions, subtitles, and translated transcripts in dozens of languages, all with the touch of a button. These captions can be viewed on your own mobile device in your preferred language during the worship service.
How It Works
During the 10:30 AM service, Wordly will transcribe what is said in English and offer instant translations into multiple languages.
You’ll be able to access the live captions and translations through a simple link or QR code provided at the building or on this webpage.
Translations will be available in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, Arabic, French, Tagalog, and many more.
Note: Translations are computer-generated and may occasionally contain minor errors, but they offer a powerful tool for understanding and participation.
Who Can Use It?
Anyone! Wordly is especially helpful for:
Visitors or members who are more fluent in a language other than English
Families with multilingual backgrounds
Friends or guests who might feel more comfortable engaging in worship in their native language
Why Are We Doing This?
This effort is part of our mission to love our neighbors and extend hospitality to every person who walks through our doors. Offering worship in multiple languages reflects our belief that the gospel is for all people, and that God is glorified when His people come together across cultures and languages to praise Him.
