Work in Your People
Jesus taught his disciples to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.” This teaches us to not only pray for our bread, but the bread of others. This teaches us to not only seek forgiveness, but to extend forgiveness. This is the kind of prayer that unified people pray, which is exactly the sort of thing for which Jesus prayed in John 17. Are we praying for unity? Are we praying that God work in us to seek the welfare of others and extend to us the same type of forgiveness we extend to others? (Scripture: John 17:6-11)
