The Table as a Rebuke of Misplaced Priorities
In Last week’s text, we saw Jesus eating with tax collectors and being scolded by Pharisees. But this week we find Jesus reclining at table with Pharisees and experts in the Law. Jesus used this dinner party as an occasion to challenge and rebuke their misplaced priorities. What can we learn from Jesus’ teaching in this text? How might we use our own table to prioritize love and justice? (Scripture: Luke 11:37-44)
