God’s Perspective on Death
The psalmist says, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Sadly, this verse is often quoted in a way that reflects the very opposite of its intended meaning. The psalmist does not mean God sees the death of his saints as a good thing. On the contrary, God recognizes the costliness of death; perhaps even more than we do. This is why God goes to such extraordinary lengths to rescue his people from death. (Scripture: Psalm 116:15-19)
