Update on Elder Nomination Process
June 22, 2025
After reviewing congregational input and considering biblical qualifications, the Elders and the Evaluation Group unanimously recommend to you the following three men for your consideration as Candidates to be added to our Eldership:
Ashly Chaffin
Dave Golden
Mike Trantham
Next Steps:
The congregation is encouraged to prayerfully consider these candidates between June 23 and July 13.
Candidate questionnaire responses will be available in the church office starting June 23.
Members are invited to meet personally with the candidates to ask any questions or express concerns.
If needed, follow-up conversations can be arranged with members of the Evaluation Group.
July 13 is the final day for congregational feedback.
If there are no scriptural objections, the candidates will be appointed as elders on July 27.
Please continue to pray for these men, their families, and the congregation throughout this process.
ELDER NOMINEE EVALUATION GROUP
The Elder Nominee Evaluation Group (ENEG) serves to facilitate the process of identifying and evaluating men who are called to shepherd the McDermott Road congregation. Working prayerfully and in collaboration with the congregation, the ENEG ensures that this important endeavor is conducted with wisdom, care, and alignment with biblical principles.

As we look to the future, we recognize the growing need for additional elders to guide and serve our church family.
This nomination process is an opportunity for us to prayerfully consider and identify men whose lives reflect the character, wisdom, and service modeled by Christ.
