Politics: What it is and Why We Should Care

At its most basic, politics is about how people living together in a society govern behavior and share resources. There is no way to have community or civilization without politics. Every society must have a political philosophy and system. Unfortunately, human politics always reflect human sin and corruption. Every philosophy and system is flawed. The Good News is, Jesus Christ is Lord. That itself is a political claim, but it also introduces the challenge of living with one foot in the kingdom of God and the other in the world. This first class will focus on the fact that we should care about politics because we love our neighbors.(Leviticus 19:1-18)
