Support Groups

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

II Corinthians 1:3-4

You don't have to go through it alone!

Most people will tell you that coping with issues of divorce, losing a loved one, or issues with pornography are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.

Support groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Each support group session has two distinct elements:

An Informational Seminar

During the informational seminar you will meet the facilitators of the particular group.  You will also find out particular information regarding the structure of the group and curriculum that will be used throughout the eight-week group session.  Due to the nature of the topics that will be discussed, you will also cover what to expect and the rules regarding each session.

Support Group Meetings

After the informational seminar, group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s curriculum assignment and what is going on in the lives of group members.  It is a time to reflect, discuss, and support each member of the group that is going through the same issues as you.  It is a personal focus on all members to understand feelings and emotions and to learn how to cope with all of them one step at a time.

A Support Group with Focus

Each session and meeting will focus on coping with the emotions and steps to the healing process.  They will also have a focus centered around God, His plans, and the support that only He can give to each and everyone of us.  The curriculum chosen for each support group has this focus.

Reaching out for support is a sign of strength not weakness.  It shows your commitment to grow beyond your current problems.
