Boy Scout Troop 181

The church of Christ on McDermott Road is the chartering organization for Boy Scout Troop 181. Scouting endeavors to develop citizens who are physically, mentally, and emotionally fit.  Scouting promotes a high degree of self-reliance as evidenced in such qualities as initiative, courage, and resourcefulness. Scouts have personal values based on religious concepts and have the desire and skills to help others. They understand the principles of the American social, economic, and governmental systems, are knowledgeable about and take pride in their American heritage and understand our nation's role in the world. Scouts have a keen respect for the basic rights of all people and are prepared to participate in and give leadership to society.

Boy Scouts are for boys who are from 11 to 18 years old. The Scouts meet at the McDermott Road church building every Monday night at 7:30 PM.  For more information visit the Troop 181 Web site .

Cub Scout Pack 2008

The McDermott Road church of Christ is the chartering organization for Cub Scout Pack 2008.  Pack 2008 is dedicated to nurturing the emotional, mental and physical growth of our Scouts through a variety of activities and events.  During the year, Cub Scouts are involved in many fun, educational and social activities in our community.  These activities challenge the boys to use their minds, hearts and bodies for their own personal growth and for the betterment of their community.

The Pack is organized in dens that are ideally composed of 6 to 8 boys based on grade level in school.  Each den has an adult Leader and an adult Assistant Leader.  Leaders are usually parents of the boys in the den.  Unlike other youth programs where the focus may be solely on the child, Cub Scouts is a family-based organization where all members of the family may participate in Cub Scout events. Our goal is to provide a quality family program for the youth members and their parents in order to foster and encourage the ideals and values upon which the Boy Scout program is based.

Pack 2008 welcomes anyone who wishes to visit or join our Pack.  Pack meetings are typically the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the church of Christ on McDermott Road.  For more information, please visit the  Pack 2008 Web site.
