Mission Statement

The overall purpose of the Care Giving Ministry is to take care of the physical needs of members of the church of Christ on McDermott Road.

Ministry Description

Focus of this ministry has been on 3 areas.

1. Helping our members who are undergoing difficult times. This may be financial issues, health issues, or other types of issues. This part of the ministry is only as good as the communication received from the congregation.
2. We have set up a Special Needs Ministry to help our members with disabilities. This is especially focused on our children. We have members who attend classes with the children as “shadows.” This allows the child to be a part of their regular class while also allowing the teacher to focus on the rest of the class. We also have a Respite Room which is set up for the Sunday worship services. An adult stays with the children in the room allowing families to participate in worship.
3. We are sponsoring member and community seminars. Last year we held a seminar on Estate Planning and more will be held in future.

Examples from Acts of how the early church sacrificed to take care of needy members. Hebrews 10:24 – “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”
