The Audio/Visual Ministry of the church of Christ on McDermott Road exists as a support ministry to: Aid in making all aspects of the congregations’ worship services able to be seen, heard, and understood, and in so doing enable us jointly and individually to have more meaningful worship to our God. By recording our services on audio and video tape or other electronic media and then making copies of the various media available to all who request them we aid our members in their walk with the Lord through education, and thus help them to advance in their Christian faith.
We currently have five different areas of ministry:
SOUND SYSTEM - Auditorium and fellowship/teen classroom area including all hallways in both buildings.
VIDEO PROJECTION SYSTEM - Includes Sony fixed mount camera in the auditorium and a computer for Powerpoint Presentations of songs and announcements, digital photos, graphics or any form of text documents.
AUDIO RECORDING - Cassette tape or CD-R, recording and duplicating using various types of media
VIDEO RECORDING - Video tape (DVD-R, MINI DV, S-VHS, VHS, recording and duplicating also using various types of media.)
Digital (Still) Photography (Camera and Printer) - New member photo bulletin board, bulletin photo inserts, etc.
Scriptural Support
While there is no specific scripture that specifies or talks about audio/visual support in the worship service it is evident to anyone who has ever been at a worship service when the power was interrupted or the sound system failed or the lamp of a projector burned out that we are very much dependent on the conveniences of our modern society to function efficiently and effectively.
The focus of the Audio/Visual Ministry is to support all aspects of our worship services and Bible classes.
