Band of Brothers - A Study of the Book of Colossians
All men are invited and encouraged to meet together at 6:30 a.m. Fridays as we begin another “Band of Brothers” Bible study group. This study will walk us through the book of Colossians with practical application to living the Christian life in cultural chaos. We finish promptly at 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 5th, we will have sausage biscuits and coffee beginning at 6:00 a.m. Come out, and enjoy the fellowship along with both physical and spiritual food!
Does God Exist? Can You Prove It?
Is there a God? Is the Bible scientifically accurate? Do science and faith in God contradict one another? These questions and more will be addressed by one of our brotherhood’s leading speakers on these subjects. Friday night, March 26th and Saturday, March 27th, scientist John Clayton (and former atheist) will be speaking at the Webb Chapel Church of Christ in Dallas with his famous series called, “Does God Exist?”
The goal of this class is to involve as many people as possible to help make mats for the homeless. These mats are made from plastic grocery bags. This group will meet on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (but, come at any time!) in the Modular Building to make “Plarn” (plastic yarn) used to crochet the mats. If you can crochet, we need you and if you don’t know how, we will teach you! This project involves recycling and helping the homeless in our community. Our goal is to make 20-30 mats which will be distributed in September 2010. Everyone is encouraged to join us Tuesday, February 2nd. No childcare provided.
Everyone is encouraged to bring their plastic grocery bags and leave them in the kitchen to help with this project.
North Texas Christian Academy
Thursday, April 1st, at7:00 p.m. Rick Atchley will speak on Values & Virtues, Raising Kids with Character. This will be a dinner and program to benefit the Academy.
Annual McDermott Road Golf Tournament
April 19th, 2010 (Monday), is the date of our Annual Golf Tournament. Both Ladies and Men are invited to participate. It will be held at The Golf Club of McKinney. This year’s tournament will benefit the Nicaragua Missions program. Make plans to join in on the food, fun and fellowship. Watch for more information to follow.
McDermott Road Runners and Walkers
The McDermott Runners/Walkers meet on Saturday mornings at the church building parking lot. Everyone is encouraged to join the group! Contact Eddy Herring for details.
