The McDermott Road Congregation helped purchase lots for the Balcones Iglesia de Cristo in Reynosa, Mexico to construct a church building. Construction has begun – piers, beams, plumbing and the floor will be completed and our help is needed to build the walls. If you can participate in this building project, the dental clinic, or the eye clinic on May 22nd – 25th, please sign the sheet on the Information Desk in the Foyer. This will be a great opportunity to get to know this new congregation! The group will stay at the Mission Center in Alton, Texas and drive to Reynosa for work. Maintenance Supervisor Opening
The church of Christ on McDermott Road will be looking for a replacement for Phil Pierce, our current Maintenance Supervisor. He will be stepping down in July 2008. We are now accepting resumes, from members of our congregation or another congregation, who are interested in serving in this supervisory position. Next Generation Now
Next Generation Now is a Capital Stewardship campaign designed to provide funding for a new educational facility. The church of Christ on McDermott Road currently serves Christians from seventeen communities throughout Collin, Denton and Grayson counties. These communities are currently home to over 500,000 residents and are growing at a rate above 15% per annum. Due to God’s blessings and the sacrificial giving of previous and current members, our congregation has been able to support its own growth of over 15% growth each year since 2003. We are, however, quickly approaching a point where our ability to service the community will be limited by our educational and worship space; hence, the Next Generation Now campaign.
